‘ACnE Society’ has been seeded to serve the purpose of expanding overall care, knowledge, awareness and research in the field of Acne.
Acne may not be a life-threatening condition; however, it can deeply disturb the body and the mind of the ones affected by it. In an individual case acne does not appear as a dangerous disease but considering the burden created by extreme prevalence, acne is a menace of epidemic level, both medically and economically. Also, even after centuries of medical research & development neither there is a complete understanding, nor a cure is available for the disease.
Further, acne care should not be complete without educating the entire society. To prevent permanent damage, acne care should be initiated as soon as possible. However, a large proportion of acne sufferers ends up having permanent scars on their body, primarily because of inappropriate, inadequate, and delayed treatment. The fact of educating the entire society becomes more important in cases of minors, a prominent part of whose health care depends upon their guardian.
